Episode 23: Using Market Research for Advocacy – Facts for Funding

Market research isn’t just necessary for for-profit enterprises – advocacy organizations like non-profits, not-for-profits, charities and NGOs can all benefit from taking part in market research.

In Episode 23 of Stories of Market Research: The Insightrix Podcast, we’re talking about what those benefits are, how market research for advocacy organizations can differ from research with for-profit enterprises (and how it is similar), what it’s like being involved in a research project with a non-profit from both the client and researcher side and much, much more.

First off, Duncan speaks with Julie Ellis, Insightrix Research Associate, about some recent projects she has worked on with advocacy organizations, considerations to take into account when working with such organizations, thoughts and experiences about doing research for non-profits and more.

Then, later in the episode, we’re joined for an in-depth chat with Bill Thorn, the Director of Marketing and Public Relations at the Regina Humane Society, a local non-profit organization in Saskatchewan.

In their discussion, Bill and Duncan talk about Bill’s experiences working for the Regina Humane Society and the awesome work their organization does in the Regina community, Bill’s thoughts about what it’s like to work in marketing and PR for a non-profit like the RHS and how market research has helped his organization. They also discuss a recent project Insightrix helped the RHS with and how the insights they received from that research have helped them serve their community better.
